Designed mainly to host ice hockey matches, the new Sondrio Arena will actually be a multifunctional sports facility for around three thousand spectators. In fact, it will also be able to host other sports such as volleyball, tennis, five-a-side football, basketball, boxing, artistic gymnastics, as well as being equipped with walls for indoor climbing in a dedicated permanent area. This iconic architecture has an elliptical shape, with a wide base, which will host, among other functions, also catering areas, and a body that stands out from this and flares out slightly from bottom to top. The most spectacular and characterizing element will be the splendid roofing in glulam and steel cables, which will give elegance and recognizability to the entire structure and will be visible both from the inside and from the outside.
