Executive architectural, structural and geotechnical design
This prestigious redevelopment project, signed by architect Michele De Lucchi, involves the construction of Intesa Sanpaolo's fourth exhibition venue, following those in Milan, Naples and Vicenza. The Gallerie d'Italia museum in Torino is housed in ‘Palazzo Turinetti di Pertengo’, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's registered office. The project involved extensive structural interventions, including partial demolition and reconstruction of various parts of the existing buildings, while maintaining the overall volume of the structures. The original complex comprises a series of buildings arranged along the four sides of a rectangular inner courtyard. It is located between Piazza San Carlo and Via Santa Teresa and Via XX Settembre, with the south-western side bordering other properties of the banking group. A key feature of the redevelopment is the new monumental staircase installed within the courtyard, which provides access to the lower exhibition floors.
